We focused on achieving a high-quality, flexible and affordable conversion of the T6 for as many wheelchair users as possible – and as a solution for both drivers and passengers. The Paravan VW T6 and VW T6 Basic models look the same as their standard counterparts on the outside. Only the Paravan cassette lift mounted under the car indicates that the vehicle has been adapted for use by people with restricted mobility. The insides are different, of course. In order to lower the conversion costs for the new “Basic”, Paravan engineers came up with a completely new idea involving a barrier-free and multi-variable floor that ascends from the C-pillar to the foot well in front with a three per cent inclination. This newly developed concept floor is mounted directly onto the standard floor in the VW T6. Among other things, this approach eliminates the need for extensive grinding and welding work on the body and floor assembly. This in turn reduces the time it takes to complete the conversion, thereby lowering costs – without any sacrifices in terms of quality.
