The German Para Alpine Ski Team, led by Paralympic champion Anna-Lena Forster and national coach Justus Wolf, visited the Mobility Park Aichelau. The focus of the visit was on personal exchange and a shared understanding of how important self-determined mobility is for everyday life and competitive sports.
For the second time this year, Paravan partnered with the German Ski Association to host the FIS Para Alpine Ski World Cup on the Feldberg. The visit to Aichelau thus also symbolized their shared commitment to elite Paralympic sports as well as to mobility and inclusion.
During a tour of the Mobility Park, Luca Arnold and Alexander Nerz from the Paravan team provided insights into the Paravan mobility world and explained various options for customizing vehicles. The athletes took the opportunity to engage in an in-depth exchange of experiences and ideas.
“If I don’t have the option of a car, I’m extremely limited. It makes an incredible difference in my quality of life,” said Anna-Lena Forster. The 30-year-old won four medals at the last Paralympics, including two golds. For training, competitions, and travel, individual mobility is indispensable in competitive sports: “Without a car, I can’t get to any training sessions. We have so much equipment with us—it hardly works any other way.”
National coach Justus Wolf also emphasized the importance of self-determined mobility in elite sports. At the same time, he expressed his gratitude for Paravan’s support. “Without this sponsorship, the World Cup at Feldberg couldn’t take place at all,” said Wolf. Among other things, the partnership enables TV broadcasts of the competitions. “This makes the athletes’ performances visible and brings them to the public.”
To wrap things up, the guests got to experience for themselves what it’s like to drive a vehicle with joystick controls. Together with driving instructor Ralf Buhmann, the athletes took a seat in the Paravan driving school vehicle—an experience that left a lasting impression on many and will surely be remembered for a long time.
The next FIS Para Alpine Ski World Cup at Feldberg will take place on January 14 and 15, 2027.
