Most manufacturers offer models with a maximum speed of 10 km/h.

You may use pedestrian paths with your power wheelchair or, if there is no pedestrian path, drive on the road. In any case, you must adapt your speed to the road conditions and the traffic, which means walking speed on footpaths and in pedestrian zones. Cycle paths may not be used, with the exception of combined cycle paths and footpaths outside built-up areas.

A power wheelchair without an adjustment function weighs approx. 80 to 100 kilos. Models with electric adjustment functions weigh between 160 and 200 kilos.

There are foldable e-wheelchair models. However, these models usually require the battery pack to be removed for folding.

There is a range here from €5,000 to €35,000. This always depends on the type of disability.

In many countries, electric wheelchairs are partially or fully covered by health insurance when medically necessary and prescribed. In Germany, for example, statutory health insurance typically covers the cost, often with only a small co-payment. Other countries like the US, UK, Canada, and Australia also offer funding through public programs, private insurers, or disability support schemes. Additional subsidies may be available for work, education, or through charitable organizations. Coverage details vary by country and individual case.

  • Step 1: Consult with a physician and therapist to obtain a written medical necessity statement.
  • Step 2: Contact your national insurance or health agency to check exact coverage criteria.
  • Step 3: Investigate disability advocacy groups or funding programs in your region.
  • Step 4: If working or studying, check if specialized subsidies apply.

Based on their ideas, our engineers, technicians and therapists have created wheelchair masterpieces in the best Swabian mechanical engineering tradition. Always focusing on people and tailored to their specific needs: from the attractive PR 30 electric entry-level model to our universal PR 40 model and the evolutionary PR 50 with plenty of comfort. All from a single source, from software and electronics to mechanical engineering. Our electric wheelchairs have won several awards, including the Bavarian State Prize 2008 and the “CyberOne” high-tech award. Our extremely maneuverable electric wheelchairs are perfectly designed for comfortable indoor and outdoor use. The powerful and compact batteries of your wheelchair allow you to drive for miles without recharging. Naturally, the batteries are maintenance-free. So you can enjoy your new mobility in comfort and convenience.

The powerful electric motor enables a speed of 6 km/h as standard - you can even easily increase this to 10 km/h on request. Our electric wheelchairs are perfectly suited for heavy-duty care and offer all options for attaching medically necessary additional equipment (e.g. ventilation). When returning to work, for example in warehousing and logistics, our electric wheelchairs are also ideally suited thanks to the lifting and standing function.
