OTWorld in Leipzig is considered the world’s largest industry gathering for orthopedic technology—and a key driver for the future of assistive device provision. Paravan is using this international platform to highlight its solutions for pediatric care. At its booth in Hall 3, F19, the company is presenting its latest developments in the field of children’s wheelchairs and customized rehabilitation technology.
The focus is on the children’s solutions in the Paravan PR series – from the PR 25 to the standing wheelchair PR 35 S. The models are specifically designed to meet the needs of young users and offer flexible, adaptable systems as well as a wide range of customization options for daily life, therapy, and development.
Children need their own solutions—not scaled-down adult models. “Even in a wheelchair, a child should be able to live their childhood freely,” explains Stefan Ludwig, Head of Wheelchair Systems at PARAVAN GmbH. The goal is to enable independence and participation from the very beginning and to consistently tailor the equipment to the children’s needs.
The current models in the PR children’s series were developed in close collaboration with therapists, doctors, and families. Features such as standing, reclining, or tilting, as well as individually adjustable seating systems, support not only mobility but also therapeutic goals and social integration in everyday life.
OTWorld clearly shows that the care of children is increasingly becoming a focus within the industry. At the same time, manufacturers, service providers, and professionals face major challenges—ranging from rising care needs and a shortage of skilled workers to complex regulatory requirements.
Initiatives such as rehaKIND underscore the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and call for better framework conditions for sustainable and needs-based care. The focus is on quality of life, participation, and the individual development of children.
“OTWorld offers the ideal platform for professional exchange and new ideas,” says PARAVAN. Marco Breitsprecher and Reha-Kind consultant Simon Derrer will be on site for personal discussions and individual consultations.
