- Hyundai Staria as a new platform for wheelchair-accessible vehicle conversions as a driver and passenger solution with optimal headroom for wheelchair users - flexibly adaptable
- Children's wheelchairs, stand-up wheelchairs and wheelchairs as driver's seats - PARAVAN presents its wheelchair portfolio in addition to vehicle solutions.
- PARAVAN Driving School invites you to take a seat in a customized vehicle for an outdoor driving test
At Integra 2024, PARAVAN GmbH will present its product portfolio in the field of mobility for the disabled - from vehicle access and the electric wheelchair portfolio to the Space Drive drive and steering system. The focus will be on the PARAVAN principle of "everything from a single source". Visitors will be able to immerse themselves in the PARAVAN product world at Stand E160 in Hall 20. Anyone who wants to try out for themselves whether and how self-determined mobility is possible or find out about driving school training for the disabled, can do so in a driving school vehicle in the outdoor area.
"The focus is on the customer, who wants to be self-determined and ideally mobile without outside help. This is what our 360-degree approach stands for, and INTEGRA is a very important trade fair for us in the Austrian market," says Alexander Nerz, Head of Marketing at PARAVAN GmbH. "The support begins with the search for the optimal solution, the right vehicle selection, right through to the conversion and individual adaptation," adds Thomas Minde, PARAVAN mobility consultant responsible for Austria. "If a technical assessment is required, this can be carried out in advance at the PARAVAN Mobility Park in Aichelau/ Germany.
Hyundai STARIA as a Driver and Ride-sharing Solution for the Disabled
With the Hyundai STARIA, PARAVAN GmbH has a new platform in its portfolio for converting vehicles for the disabled as a driving and ride-sharing solution. Depending on customer requirements, the modern Multivan can be equipped with a PARAVAN cassette lift, the Space Drive driving and steering system and a 4-way joystick. Secondary functions such as turn signals, horn, lights and even the electric sun visor can be operated using PARAVAN Touch, voice control or the universal MultiMote multifunction rotary knob. To achieve the required headroom of 1.40 meters, the vehicle floor was lowered from the A-pillar to the C-pillar. The result is a spacious interior with room for a third row of seats and a wheelchair.
Depending on the symptoms, further individual adaptations are possible: whether to use the Space Drive driving and steering system with the appropriate input devices, light steering, an accelerator ring, or various handheld devices to operate the accelerator and brake. Anything is possible! "We are always looking for practical vehicle alternatives for as many symptoms as possible," says PARAVAN mobility consultant Thomas Minde. "But the choice is getting smaller and smaller, because many models are only available as electric versions. These are currently very difficult to convert due to the battery in the vehicle floor and the permissible total weight. After the production of the VW T6.1 and the internal combustion Peugeot Traveller was discontinued, the mobility experts searched for an affordable alternative for the popular vans and found it in the new Hyundai STARIA.
Versatile PARAVAN power wheelchairs for all applications
In addition to individual mobility solutions for the vehicle, PARAVAN develops power wheelchairs for very different target groups: From child care to the functional all-rounder with standing, lying, and tilting functions to the heavyweight Heavy Duty - maneuverable, compact, and modular, developed to meet the needs of the customer. The PARAVAN wheelchair range has now grown to eight models. The wide range of applications allows users to be mobile in their leisure time or at work and, with the PARAVAN PR 50, even in the car as a driver's seat. "We always develop our power wheelchairs according to the needs of our customers, in dialog with them," says Stefan Ludwig, Head of Wheelchair Systems, who will also be on site in Wels. "For the user, his power wheelchair is as important as a well-worn pair of shoes. It must be absolutely reliable, suitable for everyday use, and individually adapted to the respective clinical picture and life situation.
In addition to new developments, there are always product updates, such as the PARAVAN Allrounder PR30/II, or improvements in terms of reach or R-Net joystick control - individually adaptable. Depending on the patient's condition, head and chin controls are available, as well as special sliding aids, rain canopies or tabletops for a relaxed daily routine. All models have an armrest that can be adjusted in up to 12 positions, with a choice of arm pads to suit individual needs. The same goes for the color scheme, which ranges from dinosaur green to red to elegant matte black.
All of the wheelchairs are manufactured in Germany. "This enables us to achieve short delivery times of about four weeks on average," says Ludwig. Two sales representatives, Simon Derrer and Matthias Enneper - also Reha-Kind experts - support sales in Austria, which is mainly handled by cooperating medical supply stores. Since 2008, PARAVAN GmbH has also included wheelchairs in its product portfolio. "This is a very important building block for our 360-degree approach of supplying everything from a single source," says Thomas Minde. "Together with the PARAVAN wheelchair team, we can offer a complete solution, from the right vehicle to the way into the vehicle, the appropriate adaptation for independent driving of the vehicle, and the customized wheelchair solution."
PARAVAN Driving School: Get in and drive
The PARAVAN Driving School will also be on hand at INTEGRA to offer test drives and advise driving instructors who want to learn more about training disabled drivers. Driving school director Ralf Buhmann will be on hand to answer questions: Can I drive at all? Which is the best solution for me? How should a driving school car be equipped and what is the appeal of handicap training? At INTEGRA you can take a test drive in a driving school car. The new driving school car is very flexible and can cover almost 95 percent of all symptoms without major modifications. Among other things, the Mercedes Sprinter is equipped with an innovative camera system with environment recognition, which makes it possible to train even when the field of vision is limited. Other options range from simple handheld devices or multi-function buttons to highly complex vehicle modifications.
