Premiere auf der IRMA

Paravan zeigt den neuen VW New Caravelle Extended für barrierefreie Mobilität

Driving school, test drives, and customized mobility solutions take center stage at the trade show in Hamburg

Pfronstetten-Aichelau/Hamburg. From June 18 to 20, 2026, Paravan will present its comprehensive mobility solutions for people with disabilities at IRMA in Hamburg. The focus of the trade show appearance in Hall A3, Booth G02 will be the new VW New Caravelle Extended, the Paravan driving school with on-site test drives, as well as customized vehicle adaptations and mobility consulting.

More space for mobility: The new VW New Caravelle Extended

With the converted VW New Caravelle Extended, Paravan is presenting its latest vehicle conversion for people with mobility impairments at IRMA. The vehicle can be used as both a self-drive and a ride-share solution and showcases the diverse possibilities of modern vehicle adaptations—from entry via a cassette lift to a lowered vehicle floor and the Extended version with additional interior height.

The combination of a lowered floor and an extended interior creates more headroom and allows wheelchair users to comfortably roll right up to the driver’s seat. Depending on individual needs, the VW New Caravelle can also be equipped with the Space Drive digital driving and steering system, enabling even people with complex mobility impairments to enjoy self-determined mobility. The new vehicle generation thus offers a flexible platform for individual mobility solutions as well as greater safety and driving comfort thanks to modern assistance systems.

The vehicle presentation is complemented by the PR 50 electric wheelchair—the first wheelchair with the appropriate certification that can also be used as a driver’s seat—as well as the all-terrain PR 4X. Especially for people who want to be mobile off paved roads, the electric wheelchair opens up additional possibilities in everyday life.

Mobility from a single source – from test drives to customized mobility solutions

“Northern Germany has been an important region for us for many years. Many customers make the long journey to the Aichelau Mobility Park to have their vehicle individually adapted or to complete their driver training with us,” says Luca Arnold from the management team at Paravan GmbH. “With our presence at IRMA, we want to bring our consulting services closer to people and show what individual mobility solutions are possible today.”

What sets Paravan apart from many providers is its holistic view of mobility. From the initial mobility consultation through test drives and driver training to individual vehicle adaptation and technical assessment, customers receive all services from a single source. The company is also presenting this 360-degree approach at IRMA in Hamburg.

A key focus of the trade show presence is the Paravan Driving School. On-site, Paravan Driving School Director Ralf Buhmann and mobility consultant Daniel Weber will be available to answer questions about driver training, vehicle modifications, and the path to obtaining a driver’s license with a disability. Visitors to the outdoor area will have the opportunity to get acquainted with modern driving aids and experience mobility firsthand during test drives in the Space-Drive driving school vehicle.

The test drives at IRMA offer interested visitors the chance to experience modern driving aids and vehicle adaptations firsthand. For many, this is their first opportunity to try out a specially equipped vehicle and get a feel for the individual mobility options available today.

In addition to its own booth, Paravan is represented at IRMA in collaboration with its long-standing partner Pforr Mobility from Hamburg. At the Pforr Mobility booth (Hall A3, Booth 72), a Paravan Peugeot Traveller is presented as a self-driving solution. The vehicle is equipped with the Space Drive digital driving and steering system and serves as an example of the possibilities for individual vehicle adaptations for people with physical disabilities.

Visitors can find Paravan in Hall A3, Booth G02. Further information about the trade show is available at More information .
