Why Benjamin chose the Peugeot Traveller from Paravan

The Peugeot Traveller L2 Allure as a readily available vehicle base for individual and barrier-free mobility – from ride-sharing to high-tech self-driving solutions.

Individual mobility begins with the right choice of vehicle – and with availability at the right moment. Take Benjamin, for example: his path back to independent mobility not only had to suit him technically, but also had to be realized as quickly as possible once all the formal steps had been completed. The decision was made in favor of a Peugeot Traveller L2 Allure from Paravan's vehicle sales pool, which is both extremely flexible and economically attractive as a basis for a wide variety of vehicle adaptations for people with disabilities. After completing his driver training in June 2024, the concrete implementation could be prepared and pushed forward step by step. The decisive factor here was that the Peugeot Traveller L2 Allure was already available at Paravan and did not have to be ordered new. Benjamin was thus able to take his seat in his own custom-built Peugeot Traveller less than a year and a half later. If a new order had been placed after approval was granted, the procurement of the base vehicle would have taken significantly longer, depending on the market situation and supply chains, before the actual conversion could have begun.

One vehicle – many possibilities

The Peugeot Traveller is one of Paravan's most popular and versatile base vehicles. Depending on requirements, it can be configured as a comfortable passenger solution or as a fully equipped self-drive vehicle. Among other things, solutions are available for wheelchair passengers in the rear or next to the driver, as well as individually designed self-drive concepts with wheelchair access to the cockpit.

For self-drivers, the Peugeot Traveller can be equipped with the Paravan cassette lift, for example, for safe and comfortable wheelchair access. The concept is complemented by the Space Drive digital driving and steering system, which controls the primary driving functions of acceleration, braking, and steering entirely electronically. Depending on physical requirements, individual controls such as joysticks, handheld devices, or alternative input systems can be used.

"The Traveller offers a very good combination of interior height, variability, and technical feasibility," explains Joachim Glück, team leader for vehicle sales at Paravan GmbH. "The vehicle is a reliable basis, especially for more complex self-drive solutions with floor lowering or the use of a wheelchair as the driver's seat. In addition, if we can fall back on vehicles that are available at short notice or pre-planned basic conversions, the entire process can be significantly accelerated."

Ease of use down to the last detail

Paravan also focuses on maximum customization when it comes to secondary functions. Paravan Touch allows numerous vehicle functions such as turn signals, lights, windshield wipers, and doors to be controlled intuitively. In addition, Paravan voice control enables operation via voice command—a plus in terms of comfort and safety in everyday life.

"Benjamin's case clearly shows how crucial the early choice of vehicle is for the entire mobility process," says Glück. "A vehicle like the Peugeot Traveller not only offers the technical flexibility for individual conversions, but also saves a lot of time if it is available at short notice. Especially when it comes to complex mobility solutions, this is an advantage that makes all the difference for many people."

This aspect is becoming increasingly important, especially in times of long supply chains. The fact that the Peugeot Traveller L2 Allure was available from Paravan at short notice enabled Benjamin to implement his mobility plan more quickly than originally expected. This is a clear advantage – not only for him, but also for many others who depend on a quick solution.
