Strong off-road performance and safe everyday use: Paravan is expanding its portfolio of wheelchairs with the new PR 4X off-road model.

From everyday life to outdoor adventures: The new PR 4X has expanded Paravan GmbH's range of specialised wheelchairs to ten models, all of which are developed and manufactured in Aichelau.

Are you looking for a vehicle that can handle roots in the asphalt, unpaved dirt roads or rocky, sandy terrain? No obstacle for the new PARAVAN PR 4X! This all-terrain electric wheelchair with all-wheel drive is now available to order and embodies a concept that is fully tailored to the individual needs of its users. The PR 4X is the latest addition to the proven PR series, which now comprises ten modular, individually configurable models tailored to a wide range of everyday, work and leisure requirements.

Designed for those who depend on robust technology and maximum reliability, the PR 4X is ideal for walking your dog in the woods, travelling through hilly regions or navigating the uneven terrain of a farm. Its powerful all-wheel drive, high ground clearance and optional studded tyres ensure safe propulsion on challenging terrain. The electric lift function, which can lift up to 30 centimetres and tilt the seat by up to 45 degrees, also offers valuable support in everyday life — for example, when reaching higher shelves or for pressure relief.

The Paravan K630 seating system is ergonomically shaped and has an integrated 3-, 4-, or 6-point safety belt. Thanks to variable backrest, seat, and cushion sizes, it can be precisely adapted to individual needs. “The PR 4X is not just a ramp wheelchair. It combines outdoor capability with comfort, safety and complete customisability," says Stefan Ludwig, Head of Wheelchair Systems at PARAVAN.

Ten models, one goal: to maximise quality of life.

With the addition of the PR 4X, Paravan's portfolio of electric wheelchairs has grown to ten models, ranging from compact systems for children to multifunctional everyday companions and specialised therapy solutions. A particular highlight is the PR 50, developed by Paravan in 2008 as its first electric wheelchair. It is still the only one with EU approval as a driver's seat in accordance with §35a StVZO (the German Road Traffic Licensing Regulations). "The PR 50 is ideal for use with our vehicle conversions, for example for drivers who dock their wheelchair directly behind the steering wheel," explains Joachim Glück, team leader for vehicle sales.

The range extends from the PR 25, which has a particularly low entry height for people of short stature or children, to the spring-loaded all-terrain wheelchair, the PR 30/II, and the children's models, the PR 35 and PR 35S, which have a chassis that is a third smaller. The latter is also equipped with a standing function that opens up new perspectives in everyday life. The PR 40 offers a high degree of mobility and independence thanks to its electric standing, reclining and tilting functions. The PR Biolution impresses with biometric joints in the hips and knees, making it ideal for therapeutic or nursing applications. The PR Heavy Duty offers maximum stability and a load capacity of up to 300 kg for people with a high body weight.

Paravan is expanding its product portfolio in the electric wheelchair sector with the new PR 4X, which is designed for off-road use. Each model is developed and manufactured in Aichelau, Baden-Württemberg, with a high degree of vertical integration and short delivery times to enable the highest level of mobility.

Three Paths to Participation: Real Stories from Everyday Life

Current case studies demonstrate how PARAVAN wheelchairs can enrich everyday life in a personal and transformative way. Consider Axel and Christiane, for instance, who have forged a new path following a stroke of fate. Axel, a long-time user of the PR 30, recently switched to the PR 50, and now his wife Christiane also uses the same model after a serious illness. Thanks to features such as the electric lift function, adjustable backrest system and foldable leg supports, they can now face everyday challenges together, from shopping to going for walks. Mobility has given them a new perspective and courage for future plans, such as the Independence Project.

A young adult also opted for a customised care concept with the PR Biolution. A custom-made back shell provides optimal support, and biometric joints enable upright, body-friendly movements without pressure or tensile forces. The individually programmable control system can be tailored to therapeutic requirements, seamlessly combining technology with real life.

For a 13-year-old girl, the PR 35 S was a step towards greater independence. Switching from an E-Fix to a fully-fledged electric wheelchair with standing, reclining and tilting functions was a deliberate decision, made to allow greater freedom of movement at school, in her leisure time and in everyday life. Its compact design and intuitive companion control (Scoot Control) make the PR 35 S the ideal companion. The standing function, in particular, literally opens up new perspectives, putting you at eye level and right in the middle of things instead of just watching from below.

Designed for the world, made in Aichelau.

All Paravan wheelchairs, whether for urban or rural use, children or heavy-duty applications, are developed and manufactured at the Aichelau Mobility Park. The nationwide field service team provides consulting, technical adaptation and service in close cooperation with medical supply stores. “For us, every care begins with listening. Only when we truly understand the user's environment can we develop bespoke solutions,' says Stefan Ludwig. The PR 4X is another example of this, and represents a commitment to self-determined mobility without compromise.
