Trying out mobility instead of just talking about it

Pfronstetten-Aichelau/Wels, June 2026 – Mobility often begins with a simple question: “Can I even drive myself?” This is exactly where Paravan GmbH’s trade show presentation at Integra 2026 in Wels comes in. Together with the Austrian driving school Powerdrive, the company will be showcasing customized solutions for people with physical disabilities from June 10 to 12 in Hall 20, Booth D520—ranging from the initial consultation and driver training to vehicle modifications.

The focus is on hands-on experience. Visitors can explore adapted vehicles, take test drives, and learn about various mobility solutions. On-site will be Markus Matzinger from the Styrian driving school Powerdrive, as well as Paravan driving school director Ralf Buhmann with the new driving school vehicle based on a Peugeot Traveller. The vehicle is equipped with the digital driving and steering system Space Drive as well as a satellite throttle and can be flexibly adapted to different physical requirements.

“With Powerdrive, we have found a strong partner in Austria to make access to personalized mobility significantly easier for people with physical limitations,” says Luca Arnold, member of the management board at Paravan GmbH. “The combination of specialized on-site driver training and individual vehicle adaptation creates, for the first time, a realistic prospect of self-determined mobility for many interested individuals.”

New Opportunities for Driver Training in Austria

Thanks to the partnership between Paravan and Powerdrive.at, specialized driver training using the Space-Drive system is now available in Austria for the first time. Many interested individuals had long been searching for an opportunity to complete training with joystick systems directly in Austria.

“The first candidates have already successfully completed their observation drives. This shows just how great the demand is in Austria,” says Markus Matzinger of Powerdrive. The so-called observation drive serves to determine, together with experts, the appropriate technical solution for the subsequent training.

For Matzinger, the key is making mobility a tangible experience: “The systems are incredibly responsive. Many students are surprised themselves at how quickly they get the hang of it.” At the same time, the training is also uncharted territory for some authorities and testing centers. “This makes it all the more important to make mobility a tangible experience.”

The 360-Degree Approach to Individual Mobility

At Paravan, mobility doesn’t end at the vehicle or the trade show booth. From the initial consultation through the selection of suitable mobility solutions, assistance with applications and funding opportunities, all the way to customized vehicle modifications and driver training, the company supports customers from the first consultation to a ready-to-drive solution. At Integra, Paravan will showcase vehicle conversions for drivers and passengers, entry aids, loading systems, and wheelchair restraints, as well as its comprehensive wheelchair portfolio. Among other new vehicle solutions, Paravan will present a VW Caravelle equipped with a cassette lift and wheelchair loading system for flexible everyday use.

The wheelchair portfolio ranges from compact children’s wheelchairs to electric wheelchairs with a standing function or wheelchairs designed as driver’s seats. A highlight in the wheelchair segment is the off-road Paravan PR 4X with all-wheel drive, increased ground clearance, and a robust design for various applications—especially in regions like Austria, where inclines, uneven paths, or more challenging routes are part of everyday life in many places.

“Many visitors come to us with a wide variety of questions—about driver training, vehicle modifications, or suitable wheelchair solutions,” says Thomas Minde, who is responsible for customer service in Austria at Paravan. “After an initial test drive or direct discussion, the feeling often arises for the first time: Maybe more is possible than I previously thought.” For the Paravan driving school, too, the focus at Integra is above all on the personal experience. “There is no single standard solution,” says driving school director Ralf Buhmann. “Every training program begins with working together to determine what is technically and personally possible.”

Integra is considered Austria’s most important trade fair for rehabilitation, care, therapy, and inclusion, and has been a central meeting place for Paravan for many years, bringing together industry professionals, those affected, and their families.
