Bodensee Klassik vintage car rallye stops at PARAVAN

Vintage cars meet vehicle technologies of the future

A very special picture presented itself to the people of Aichelau on Friday morning, when the 9th edition of the Bodensee Klassik made a stopover at the mobility park of PARAVAN GmbH. 113 vehicles between the year of construction 1928 and 2002 set off on the "Swabian Alb Round", which was part of the roadbook of the organizers for the first time. On display were real legends and vehicles that awakened nostalgic memories among the fence-sitters. From the exhibition grounds in Friedrichshafen, the route went via Salem and Sigmaringen to Aichelau for a lunch break. Thereby, the classic car lovers were offered a lot besides refreshments.

"We are delighted that this year's Bodensee Klassik has made a stopover at our mobility park in Aichelau," said host Roland Arnold, founder and managing director of PARAVAN GmbH, which presented its product portfolio, from vehicle conversions for the disabled to electric wheelchairs and innovative technologies for autonomous driving. "The starting field, whether automobile or driver, was very impressive and the classic car lovers got at the same time a taste of the automotive future with us. A very interesting field of tension, which brought an interesting exchange with the participants, for example on the topic of electronic steering and autonomous driving."

After a three-year forced break due to corona, the drivers took to the track again this year. On Thursday, they drove the first stage with the "Prolog Bodenseeblick" in heavy rain. Today it went on in the dry on the Swabian Alb. The field of drivers was impressive: the oldest vehicles and at the same time crowd pullers were a Willys Overland Wipped 96 as well as an Auburn C8 from 1928 and 1929. But there were also many other rarities to marvel at. Prominent drivers like Nick Heidfeld with a BMW 327/ 328 from 1939 as well as bob driver André Lange with an Opel Kadett B from 1971 were at the start. In addition to the classic oldtimers, youngtimers built up to 2002 also took part in the traditional drive. "That's what's so special about this rally," reports rally legend Armin Schwarz and sporting director, who organized the event for the 4th time. "These are the cars of my youth."

The drivers had to complete a total of seven special stages on Friday. After noon, they returned to the exhibition grounds in Friedrichshafen via Bad Waldsee. The third stage of the Bodensee Klassik will take the participants from Friedrichshafen to the "Ostallgäu Runde" in Kempten on Saturday. On Sunday, the participating vehicles can still be admired at the Motorworld Classics Bodensee, on the exhibition grounds in Friedrichshafen in Hall A1.
