As part of the 2nd dmsj - German Inclusive E-Kart Slalom Championship (iDKSM), the Inclusive E-Kart Slalom Trophy will also be held this year. This opens up the popular event to participants over the age of 27. The championship with the joystick-controlled e-karts equipped with the Space Drive drive and steering system celebrated its successful premiere season in 2022, before being awarded the title of "German Championship" and becoming the iDKSM in 2023.
A total of six championship races throughout Germany, two kick-off events and a final race are scheduled for this year. In 2024, the Trophy classification will be introduced alongside the iDKSM. This will give those who, due to their age, were previously unable to take part in the inclusive e-kart slalom competition the opportunity to do so. The classic iDKSM covers the age range from 8 to 27 years, while the new Inclusive E-Kart Slalom Trophy is aimed at all competitors over the age of 27.
New for this season are the kick-off events: at the two regional taster events (North and South regions) anyone interested will have the chance to try out the Inclusive E-Kart sms revo SpaceDrive. In addition, other mobility offers, some of which are inclusive, will be presented, including test drives with the innovative sms revo SL electric kart for kart slalom.
What does United in Dreams stand for?
Since 2020, "United in Dreams", a project of the non-profit association x4in - Experience for Innovation e.V., has been pursuing the goal of firmly integrating inclusion into motorsports. In cooperation with the dmsj (Deutsche Motor Sport Jugend) and the DMSB (Deutscher Motor Sport Bund e.V.), children and young adults with and without physical disabilities will be given the opportunity to take part in the popular beginner's discipline of karting slalom. In this equal opportunity competition, people with and without disabilities compete under the same conditions. This is made possible by the sms revo SpaceDrive electric kart, which is equipped with Paravan's Space Drive II system and is controlled by joysticks, a technology that has been proven in the field of mobility for the disabled for over two decades.
